Painted Wooden Folk Art Wood Duck in Excellent Palette fishing decoy perhaps 18th century in factNot an especially old one, but I couldnt resist it for the determined effort of its maker to fully honor the fantastic patterns of the wood duck in a most excellent palette. It is signed Paul E. Bickford of Southhampton NH on the underside of the base, indicating, I assume, that its maker was pretty pleased with their efforts, too. Theres a repaired and painted over split on the yellow of the legs; I might guess this was made in two pieces to begin
