I don't know the maker of this tall columnar vase

19th c at the youngest but I think perhaps a good bit older than that

so beautifully done

A little warping to the wood

Farewell, Mid 19th Century Reverse Painted Glass, Foil and Paper Flowers Forget Me Not underglaze blue porcelain I don't know the makerI've found a few mid 19th century "forget me nots" of this sort over the years, though don't come across them very often, and will continue to scoop them up whenever I do. They feel to me midway between Italian reliquaries and Victorian glass domed waxworks, and most of all full of the never ending (and very early Victorian) drive to make momentos of every sort lest one be forgotten. And these of course are best lit by candlelight, with the reverse
